Lukas Winterberger was born in Switzerland. From 2019 to 2024, he worked at the Theater Koblenz (Germany) and now lives in Basel (Switzerland) as a freelance actor. He previously lived in Cologne for a year. He speaks fluent English, Italian, and French well. He is currently learning Spanish. His native language is Bernese German (Switzerland). He graduated in 2019 from the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (HMTMH) with a diploma in acting. During his studies, he was engaged at the Oldenburg State Theatre and the German Theatre Göttingen. He was also a student representative for the HMTMH at E:UTSA (European Union for Theatre Schools and Academies), a European network for drama schools and academies. In 2022, he received an award from the Armin Ziegler Foundation for young emerging artists. In 2025, he founded the duo Jungberger with actress Isabell Jung. The two performed their debut piece, titled "I fucking try to tell you who I am," at the fifteen-minute festival in Cologne.

Special abilities
Lukas Winterberger has been playing the violin since 2001. As a teenager, he played in various orchestras, including the Menuhin Youth Orchestra, the Orchestra degli Amici, and the Cazadero Orchestra (San Francisco). He is also self-taught on the piano and accordion and the guitar.
In 2014 for his civil service, he spent a season in the Lollypop Circus, touring in Switzerland and the Balkans.
